Personal tokens provide Cortex users with a way to access data and edit entities and scorecards within Cortex without requiring admin permissions to create a token. Similar to API keys, you can use personal tokens to make calls through API endpoints. Permissions for personal tokens directly mirror your own user permissions. If you attempt to make a call through endpoints not within your user permissions, this will result in a 403 error.
Creating a personal token
To create a personal token, navigate to Settings and then select Personal access token under Preferences in the left-hand navigation bar.
Select Create a personal token. A modal will appear prompting you to enter a description and select an expiration date.
You can enter a description to explain what the personal token is for. Though optional, adding a description is recommended to clearly identify and differentiate between multiple tokens on the personal token page.
