In Cortex, entity ownership is managed through two key concepts: x-cortex-owners and x-cortex-team. The x-cortex-owners field is used to display both teams and individual members who have ownership of an entity. On the other hand, x-cortex-team is specifically used to populate the teams that are assigned to an entity. It's worth noting that a recent update has addressed some issues related to this functionality.
To view the owners of an entity in Cortex, navigate to the Owners tab of the entity page. This tab will display all the teams and individual members that have been added as owners under the x-cortex-owners field. This provides a clear overview of who has ownership responsibilities for the entity.
You can assign multiple teams as owners to a single entity by selecting 'Add Team', choosing a team, clicking 'Add', and then repeating the process for additional teams. The first team will not be replaced when you add subsequent teams. Note that services cannot be directly set as owners of resources; instead, resources should be owned by teams, and services can be linked through dependencies.
