If the email associated with your Cortex account is not the same as your Github email address, you need to add your Cortex email address to the Public email dropdown in GitHub settings.
Github OAuth, which you can configure in Cortex user settings, allows you to link your GitHub username with your Cortex account, even if you don't have a public email set up on GitHub.
There are two primary methods for mapping users to GitHub:
OAuth authentication: Add your OAuth user through the 'My integration accounts' page in Cortex settings
Manual mapping: Administrators can manually map users under identity mappings
If you're experiencing mapping issues, recent username changes, configuration modifications, or discrepancies in user identification methods might be affecting the automatic mapping process. For self-managed Cortex deployments, manually adding your OAuth user via the 'My integration accounts' settings page is recommended to resolve mapping discrepancies.
When a GitHub user is successfully mapped, you can verify this in the Identity Mappings menu in your tenant settings, which displays the GitHub username in the right column.
